My major of study is Meteorology.
For anyone that doesn't know what meteorology is, I think you can maybe guess by the pictures I have around this page...
If you can't, Meteorology is the study of the weather.
That seems to be the source of some major confusion.
People often confuse the term Meteorology with Astronomy. This is probably because when someone thinks of meteors, they think of asteroids.
However, meteor is defined in the Miriam Webster online dictionary as "an atmospheric phenomenon (as lightning or snowfall)".
Meteorology, therefore, fits that definition perfectly as the study of atmospheric phenomenon.
Just wanted to clear that up.

I discovered my interest in weather very early on. I can remember sitting in my grandmother's house staring out the window when it was raining or snowing.
To this day I still get excited when something interesting happens, whether it be a massive hailstorm, or a really hot week of temperatures ahead.
My favorite season is summer because of the warmth, and being able to drive with my windows open. I find winter visually appealing, but other than that there is nothing that I like about the season.
I enjoy explaining how the weather works and predicting what will happen.
I also like photographing the weather, though I am still quite an amateur at that.
Given all of that, my choice of major was obvious.
